Gayle Collings

Gayle came to California many years ago on a journey to reevaluate his career and life with a new vision. After more than thirty years as a cosmetologist, his first step was to get his career established and then find a way to give back to the community. He started working in a salon in Redondo Beach and built his clientele quickly, a testament to his expertise. Soon thereafter, a young woman approached Gayle enquiring if he was interested in working with a non-profit organization benefiting women and youth; as a result Gayle became the first male to be elected to the board of directors of the YWCA of the Harbor Area and Southbay in their ninety-year history.

Throughout the years Gayle has grown very close to the Slepcevic Family and their little boy Noah. He watched as Noah went from a child who couldn’t speak and would not come near him to the happy, high-functioning child that he is today. Noah has changed Gayle's life, and now Gayle is determined to bring this kind of positive change into the lives of other families who have children just like Noah.
